Mr. Hartman is the uncle of a member of our group that we were able to reach through email. He served 20 years in the US Navy and was on the submarines for the first ten years. He spent the last ten years of that career on an Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Boat Unit. He received a technical background in the Navy in advanced electronics. He was in charge of satellite, HF and VLF communications equipment on the submarines. He is qualified in Submarine Warfare, where he had to get to know his way around every part of the submarines he served on.
After the Navy, he worked in the Semiconductor Industry for over 18 years for a company called Applied Materials Inc.. He started out by working on equipment that processes the silicon wafers that produce computer chips. He has worked in fabrication facilities around the world that have made processor chips, memory chips and chips that have processors and imbedded memory. Mr. Hartman now manages service accounts at a couple of their customer sites.
